Wardrobe
When we walk into the average clothing store, there are typically two sections: men and women.
Almost all of my female friends have at least one item from the mens section…including myself (more than one to be honest). And yes, I have male friends with a wardrobe that includes the women section. Some that wish more heels ran in their size.
Then why are there two separate sides to a store if people pick and choose from both areas?
I think it’s because society is telling us what we should be wearing. What is displayed in each section is what is expected of us to choose or prefer. If you are female, then you should want the clothes in the women section and vice versa.
Sure, the anatomy of females and males are different. I get it. Men tend to be taller, have broader shoulders, and oh yeah, chicks have breasts. But if it was really about that, then stores wouldn’t be split by genders, it would be split by body types. Not all men are shaped the same and neither are females.
It just got me thinking…what other things in our lives are predetermined for us? And why does it have to be so?
